How can I change the email address where I receive group emails?

You can change your email address in your profile on the web interface.  Just go to www.diganswerline.org, log in, and click on you name in the upper right hand corner to access your profile.

I never received an invitation, how do I join the Answer Line and Marketplace?

Go to www.diganswerline.org and click on the Answer Line and/or the Marketplace links.  Then click the +Request button and enter your email address.

I can’t remember my password.  How can I log in?

Go to www.diganswerline.org and click on the Answer Line and/or the Marketplace links.  Then click the Sign In button.  Now click the Reset Password link and follow the instructions.

Why do we need the web interface?

The web interface is completely optional.  Some people like to be able to search past topics and the web interface allows an easy way to do this.  The web interface is also used to access file attachments.  Instead of sending hundreds of copies of an attachment to the group, one copy is stored on the web server and a link to the attachment is placed in each email.

I am a Gmail user and don’t get a copy of the emails I send to the group.  What is wrong?

This is a problem on the Gmail end. The Answer Line server correctly delivers the message to the gmail.com servers but Gmail discards it.  According to Gmail they are doing you a “favor”.

“Mail you send to a mailing list you subscribe to will only appear in “Sent Mail”. Gmail automatically skips your Inbox and archives the message to save you time and prevent clutter. The message will appear in your Inbox if someone responds to it or if there is an error delivering the message. If you’d like to view your message, you can find it in Sent Mail or All Mail.”

How can I get removed from the group?

There is a link in each email that allows you to easily unsubscribe.  You can also log into the web interface and click on the unsubscribe link in the upper right corner of the page.

What if I need assistance, who do I contact?

Send an email to [email protected] and someone will get back to you as soon as possible.  This email address is monitored by volunteers so please be patient.  Alternatively you can also send an email to [email protected] and they may be able to help.

Is it possible to view the content from the previous Answer Line?

Yes, the previous Answer Line is available at archives.diganswerline.org. To access the archives you must have been a member of the forum prior to 10/1/2014.
